Job description

The North American Food Safety Operations Program Team ensures that all Amazon Distribution and Retail/Grocery Fulfillment sites meet safety criteria, regulatory requirements and brand standards. They collaborate with a diverse range of internal stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive policies and procedures across the fulfillment network. They excel at translating food safety initiatives into clear, actionable guidelines, facilitating seamless adoption across the fulfillment network.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and optimize Amazon Food Safety Operations programs and standard work protocols, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
- Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive training programs to drive food safety execution at the retail level for maximum proficiency and effectiveness
- Develop, enhance, and optimize requirements for third party vendors (e.g., pest control vendor, sanitation vendor) and manage their performance
- Proactively identify opportunities for leveraging external expertise, then source, manage, and collaborate with third-party consultants for validations, research, and benchmarking to continuously improve food safety programs
- Establish and maintain a robust set of program metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure output performance, track progress, and identify areas for improvement in food safety programs, using data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement efforts
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement food safety initiatives, ensuring seamless integration with existing operational processes and systems
- Compose and edit detailed business review documents to effectively communicate food safety program health and program improvement initiatives

In this role, you will be elevating food safety compliance standards across Amazon's network of Distribution and Retail/Grocery Fulfillment sites

Your typical day will blend strategic planning with innovative program development. You'll work with a diverse range of internal stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of program changes. You'll analyze trends, conduct comprehensive program assessments, and collaborate with third-party experts when required to continuously enhance our processes.
