As part of the Leo team, you will solve difficult problems where resolutions have high impact, and help create a brand new set of launch site processes and standards. To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while maintaining the highest standards of execution.
Key job responsibilities
The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer will lead a team of technicians through satellite integration operations. This individual will work closely with other launch operations and satellite manufacturing teams.
The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer implements test requirements, designs and establishes the payload processing facility satellite integration work cell, supports facility and equipment planning, authors procedures, implements process controls, and supports continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is comfortable in a highly technical and collaborative setting and is able to interpret technical requirements and turn them into actionable steps.
Key job responsibilities
Planning workstation layouts for satellite integration, optimized to eventually reach the planned processing rate
Planning material flow and implementing manufacturing processes for satellite integration
Integrating satellites onto dispensers
Continuously improving satellite integration and test processes
Interfacing with facilities personnel to set up and work within a payload processing facility
Evaluating and improving takt time
Authoring and implementing work instructions and standard processes
Resolving anomalies and implementing corrective actions
Operations will occur primarily on second shift, Monday-Friday but off-shift and weekend work may be required depending on production/launch schedules
Must be willing and able to perform extended travel up to 25% annually, either domestically or internationally as business needs demand
A day in the life
The satellite integration Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer will spend the majority of their day on the shop floor leading their team through satellite to dispenser mating operations

They will work with other engineering teams, quality, and manufacturing teams to set up and maintain the satellite integration equipment. They will address root cause of failures and issues, and implement production control and optimization strategies. They will implement engineering best practices in a safe and repeatable manner, implement efficiency improvements and reduce non-conformances.
The satellite integration Manufacturing Engineer will have experience in space hardware integration and test, with particular focus on handling flight hardware or lifting and rigging systems.
