The Amazon Air (AIR) Process Engineer (PE) team is a group of leaders driving process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement. Candidates will manage the relationship between cost, speed, and service by developing innovative ideas which create value for our customers.

PE's have customer impact by identifying and solving process defects, deep diving data, using engineering principles in the development of processes and planning tools, and project management skills to implement change. PE's act locally, but build globally, standardizing AIR's operations.
This position is expected to be in the office in Lakeland, FL.
Drug Test Requirement:
This position requires an employee's full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute their job duties to ensure the safety and security of Amazon Air personnel, third-party contractors, Airport personnel, cargo, and equipment.This position is therefore designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and, where permitted, post-hire drug testing.
Eligibility requirement
Individuals hired into this position will have unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA). For this reason, eligibility for this role will be limited to individuals who pass a security screening, as required by the FAA, DHS, and TSA (as applicable).
- Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop labor standards through work measurement
- Create operational models and planning to support both sort and ramp operations
- Manage projects from conception to completion
- Conduct and lead project meetings with Senior and Regional leaders
- Assess and optimize the processes and equipment used in the facility
- Typical projects could include spearheading a floor layout redesign, evaluating the ergonomic needs and issues within work areas, or conducting a capacity planning and analysis study including the operational execution plan
- Understand, articulate, and implement mechanisms that drive efficient processes
- Evaluate flight schedules to determine operational impacts
- Calculate ground support equipment (GSE) needs at regular intervals
- Plan and design systems that meet business needs by improving integration of people, materials, equipment, software, and finance
- Recommend and implement changes to safety procedures, work methods, and labor standards
- Work a flexible schedule, shift, and work area which could include weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Travel domestically up to 10% of the time
