Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced contracts negotiator to lead negotiations of complex cloud services agreements with our most sophisticated customers.
In this hybrid legal and business role, you will develop internal strategy, craft proposals to address unique customer requirements, draft bespoke contractual provisions, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and leaders to drive open issues to resolution, and serve as the face of AWS Legal in customer negotiations.
To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate a strong command of complex contractual terms and underlying technology and business considerations. You will exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations, drive consensus across stakeholders, and maintain composure under pressure, as these negotiations move on tight timelines in support of high-priority business opportunities.

About the team
You will join a fast-paced, collegial, and diverse legal team that delights in building, innovating, and simplifying for its business partners and customers. Beyond leading some of AWS's most consequential customer deals, you will contribute to collaborative projects, departmental initiatives, and efforts to develop scalable solutions. This role offers direct access and visibility to senior business and legal leaders.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of multi-million dollar contract negotiation experience
- 5+ years of drafting and negotiating the legal terms in a broad range of standard commercial contracts experience
- Experience with complex commercial/legal concepts and drafting, ability to quickly read and interpret legal terminology and reasoning
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or international equivalent
- Experience independently leading negotiations of complex sell-side business-to-business enterprise technology contracts involving AI, SaaS, IaaS, or cloud computing
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to provide oversight, guidance and management to multiple projects at once, and follow through and meet deadlines
- High degree of independence, initiative, decisiveness, and creative thinking

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
