Job description

BMA is seeking an R&D Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. This position is fully remote and contingent on contract award. 

Job Summary

Provides cybersecurity engineering support for DLA Research & Development (R&D) efforts. Performs project tasks involving specialized cybersecurity challenges and applies electronic processes, methodologies, and technical solutions to address system and technology-related cybersecurity requirements. Analyzes information security requirements and applies analytical and systematic approaches to resolve workflow, organizational, and planning challenges. Supports the planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration of information systems.

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Plans, develops, installs, configures, maintains, and supports DLA's Okta environment and associated network software.
    • Organizes and directs the configuration, operation, and ongoing administration of DLA's Okta infrastructure.
    • Analyzes and resolves end-user software and connectivity issues.
    • Performs capacity planning and performance analysis.
    • Provides recommendations for system configuration changes and upgrades.
    • Develops and implements automated tools and scripts to improve system administrator efficiency and accuracy.
    • Creates and maintains system administration procedures and documentation.
    • Conducts system administrator training and skills assessments.
    • Provides end-user training and technical support.
    • Recommends technology solutions that align with business objectives and strategic direction.
    • Provides local and remote maintenance support for operational systems within the DLA Okta environment.
    • Performs system maintenance, upgrades, and new server and application installations.
    • Directs the work of system administrators to support daily system administration, resource optimization, and user support.
    • Applies advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing and fault tolerance.

Clearance Requirements

Must possess a Moderate Risk, Confidential, Non-Critical Sensitive, Tier 3/NACLC/ANACI investigation at the time of proposal submission.

Required Skills & Certifications

  • Ten (10) years of relevant Information Technology experience.
  • Five (5) years of relevant Operational Technology (OT) experience.
  • Experience analyzing cybersecurity and information security requirements and applying technical methodologies to resolve system and technology-related cybersecurity challenges.
  • Experience providing security engineering support for the planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration of information systems.
  • Must possess a relevant certification meeting DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III requirements.
  • Must possess an IASAE Level III certification or obtain the required IASAE Level III certification within six (6) months of joining the contract.
  • Must possess an approved Computing Environment (CE) certification, such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate or Expert, Cisco Certified Network Administrator, Microsoft Azure Security Technologies, Amazon Certified Security, or another Computing Environment certification designated by the COR.
  • Must possess a Moderate Risk, Confidential, Non-Critical Sensitive, Tier 3/NACLC/ANACI investigation at the time of proposal submission.
