Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to partner with the world's leading Telecommunications companies on their most ambitious cloud transformation journeys.
In this highly technical, customer-facing role, you will work directly with Telco customers to understand their business drivers, assess application portfolios, and design scalable, resilient cloud architectures on AWS. The problem domains are compelling and fast-evolving: 5G monetization, cloud-native network function virtualization (CNF/VNF), OSS/BSS modernization, mobile edge computing (MEC), fiber broadband platforms, hyperscale data analytics, and network security. You will leverage the full breadth of AWS services-including AI/ML, edge computing, IoT, and advanced analytics-to craft solutions that address real telecommunications challenges.
As a trusted advisor, you will build deep relationships with senior technical leaders and CxOs to guide their migration and modernization strategies. You will enable customers through hands-on workshops, architectural deep-dives, and cloud acceleration programs-working side-by-side with engineering teams to build prototypes and proof-of-concepts. You will also drive revenue growth by formulating and executing go-to-market strategies in partnership with AWS Sales and the partner ecosystem.
The ideal candidate combines broad technical competence across infrastructure, networking, security, and application development with deep expertise in telecommunications architectures. You must be able to connect technology outcomes to measurable business value and communicate effectively with stakeholders ranging from network engineers to CTOs.
Key job responsibilities
Partner with Telco customers to assess application portfolios, understand network architecture requirements, and define AWS cloud adoption strategies aligned to their digital transformation roadmap.
Design highly scalable, resilient cloud architectures leveraging AWS services-including AI/ML, edge computing, IoT, and data analytics-to address Telco-specific challenges such as 5G monetization, network function cloudification, OSS/BSS modernization, and mobile edge computing.
Build trusted advisor relationships with senior technical leaders and CxOs, enabling them as cloud advocates within their organizations.
Drive revenue growth by formulating and executing sales strategies with AWS Sales teams, mobilizing internal resources and partners to ensure successful migrations and net-new builds on AWS.
Deliver hands-on enablement through workshops, proof-of-concepts, and architectural deep-dives that demonstrate AWS value for resiliency, security, performance, and cost optimization.
Act as a voice-of-customer liaison to AWS service teams, synthesizing field observations to influence the product roadmap for Telco-relevant services.
Collaborate across AWS to develop reusable solutions, reference architectures, and mechanisms for repeatable Telco customer outcomes.
Author and share best-practice knowledge through whitepapers, code samples, blog posts, and public speaking at industry events.
A day in the life
Your morning might start with an architectural design session alongside a Tier-1 carrier's engineering team-whiteboarding a cloud-native 5G core deployment. After lunch, you join a call with AWS service teams to share customer feedback that could shape a new edge computing feature. Later, you run a hands-on workshop helping a fiber broadband provider build a proof-of-concept for their subscriber analytics platform. Between engagements, you carve out time for self-paced learning on emerging Telco standards or draft a reference architecture that your peers across AWS can reuse. Your week balances customer-facing collaboration (60-70%) with internal knowledge-sharing, strategic planning, and continuous skill development.
