Job description

AWS Integration Developer to design, develop, configure, and support enterprise-grade integration solutions using AWS cloud services. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building AWS integration platforms, APIs, event-driven architectures, and messaging solutions.

The primary focus is AWS integration depth, including API Gateway, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, Kafka/MSK or Kinesis, infrastructure-as-code, security, and observability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement scalable enterprise integration solutions using AWS services.
  • Configure and establish AWS integration platforms, standards, conventions, and reusable integration patterns.
  • Develop and manage APIs using Amazon API Gateway, REST, JSON, OpenAPI, versioning, error handling, and rate limiting.
  • Build serverless integrations using AWS Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and Step Functions.
  • Design and implement event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging solutions.
  • Develop applications and integration components using Python, Java, Node.js/TypeScript, or Go.
  • Implement integrations with enterprise and SaaS applications such as SAP, Salesforce, Workday, and ServiceNow.
  • Work with Amazon MSK/Apache Kafka and Amazon Kinesis for production streaming and event-processing solutions.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for integration applications and infrastructure.
  • Implement AWS security best practices using IAM, least-privilege access, API security, and data protection.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integrations using Amazon CloudWatch and distributed tracing.
  • Establish API management, governance, developer portal, schema management, and integration standards.
  • Work with data transformation and serialization formats including JSON, XML, Avro, and Protobuf.
  • Support containerized integration workloads using ECS, EKS, and Fargate.
  • Participate in production support, root-cause analysis, performance tuning, and formal change-management processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of professional software/integration development experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS integration experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • AWS API Gateway
    • AWS Lambda
    • Amazon EventBridge
    • Amazon SQS
    • Amazon SNS
    • AWS Step Functions
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, OpenAPI, API lifecycle management, and integration patterns.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture, asynchronous messaging, and streaming.
  • Strong programming experience with at least one of Python, Java, Node.js/TypeScript, or Go.
  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • Experience with CI/CD automation.
  • Working knowledge of AWS IAM, security, and least-privilege access.
  • Experience with CloudWatch, logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
  • Production experience with Apache Kafka/Amazon MSK or Amazon Kinesis.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • AWS certification such as AWS Developer Associate, Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, or DevOps Engineer Professional.
  • Experience with MuleSoft and/or SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI).
  • Experience integrating SAP, Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, or other enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of GraphQL/AppSync, gRPC, and webhook-based integrations.
  • Experience with ECS, EKS, and Fargate.
  • Experience with API governance, developer portals, and schema registries.
  • Knowledge of Avro and Protobuf.
  • Experience working in regulated, high-availability enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of formal change-management and production-release processes.

The ideal candidate is a senior AWS Integration Engineer/Developer who has built and configured AWS integration platforms rather than simply consuming individual AWS services. Candidates should demonstrate strong production experience across API Gateway, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, Step Functions, Kafka/MSK or Kinesis, IaC, security, and CI/CD.
