Job description

Salary:

ABOUT CLEAN NUTRA
Clean Nutra is a fast-scaling supplement and nutraceutical brand with 200+ SKUs sold across Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and DTC, fulfilling through both FBA/WFS and our own Las Vegas warehouse. We're expanding into Europe and building the supply chain, formulation, and cost structure to compete globally. We move fast, own our infrastructure and data, and back our team with serious AI tooling.

THE ROLE
We're hiring a China Commercialization Manager to own the build-out of our China sourcing and product-development engine across our full portfolio: powders, softgels, liquids, and a new beauty line (serums and creams). You'll take our costliest powder SKUs and re-engineer them for dramatically lower landed cost without sacrificing quality; partner with R&D to launch best-in-class powder formats and flavors in stick packs and jars; stand up entirely new softgel, liquid, and beauty lines in custom packaging; and shift the right portion of production to China to make us cost-competitive worldwide as we enter Europe.
This is a strategic, hands-on role for someone who can negotiate with a factory in the morning, sit in an R&D flavor panel in the afternoon, and build a landed-cost model that night. You'll start with some existing China relationships and be responsible for expanding and professionalizing that network into a reliable, audited, cost-advantaged supply base. You report directly to the CEO.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN
China Sourcing & Cost Engineering
- Identify, qualify, audit, and onboard China manufacturers across all formats powders, softgels, liquids, and cosmetics (serums/creams) expanding our existing relationships into a deep, vetted supplier base with redundancy on critical SKUs. Note that cosmetics typically require different factories and certifications than supplements.
- Replicate our highest-cost powder SKUs at China factories and drive meaningful landed-cost reduction measured net of tariffs (incl. Section 301), freight, duties, and compliance overhead, not just unit price.
- Build and maintain landed-cost models comparing China vs. domestic co-mans; recommend what to dual-source vs. fully shift, and sequence the transition to protect in-stock positions.
- Negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms, Incoterms, capacity commitments, and lead times; hold suppliers to scorecards.
- Protect Clean Nutra IP proprietary formulas, flavor systems, and artwork through contracts, supplier segmentation, and know-how compartmentalization.
Product Development & Commercialization (with R&D)
- Partner with R&D to develop winning powder formats that taste exceptional across multiple flavor profiles owning solubility, mouthfeel, sweetener systems, and flavor masking in both stick packs and jars.
- Research, develop, and spin up our softgel business from the ground up, including fill formulation (gelatin and plant-based/vegetarian softgels) and custom packaging formats such as bags and jars.
- Develop and spin up a liquids line, owning formulation, flavor, stability, and packaging suited to the format.
- Stand up our entire beauty line in China serums and creams partnering with cosmetic chemists on emulsions, active ingredients, preservation systems, and stability, with packaging that meets premium shelf and channel expectations.
- Drive products from concept to first commercial production run: prototyping, golden-sample approval, pilot runs, and scale-up sign-off.

- Source and qualify packaging (stick packs, jars, bags, bottles, beauty primary packaging) optimized for cost, shelf appeal, and channel requirements across Amazon, retail, and EU.
Quality, Testing & Import Compliance (with QA)
- Coordinate directly with our QA lead to enforce rigorous incoming and finished-goods testing protocols identity, potency, heavy metals, microbial, and contaminant testing with COA review on every lot.
- Ensure foreign facilities and shipments meet U.S. import requirements: FSVP (Foreign Supplier Verification Program), FDA facility registration, prior notice, and avoidance of import-alert exposure; coordinate Prop 65 and stability testing where applicable.
- For the beauty line, navigate the separate cosmetics regulatory track: U.S. MoCRA (facility registration and product listing), China NMPA requirements for cosmetics manufacturing, and for Europe an EU Responsible Person, CPNP notification, and Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSR).
- Support EU market entry by working with QA/regulatory on EFSA, novel-food, and EU labeling requirements for China-sourced product.
- Stand up supplier audit cadences (cGMP, and NSF/third-party certification where relevant) and corrective-action processes.

FIRST-YEAR OUTCOMES
- A qualified, audited China supplier base across powders, softgels, liquids, and cosmetics with documented quality and capacity to scale.
- Targeted landed-cost reduction delivered on our highest-cost powder SKUs, validated against full landed cost.
- Commercialized softgel, liquid, and beauty lines shipping in custom packaging.
- New powder formats/flavors launched in stick packs and jars with strong consumer taste validation.
- A repeatable concept-to-production playbook and testing protocol that QA can rely on for every China lot.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Native or fluent Mandarin; deep familiarity with China manufacturing culture and how to operate effectively with factories (must be able to work directly with Chinese suppliers as a native cultural and language counterpart).
- Proven track record sourcing and commercializing nutraceutical, supplement, food, or beverage products in China ideally powders and/or softgels.
- Hands-on experience with product development: flavor systems, formulation, and packaging, taking products from prototype to scaled production.
- Strong supplier negotiation skills and command of landed-cost modeling, Incoterms, tariffs/duties, and import logistics.
- Working knowledge of supplement quality and U.S. import regulation (cGMP, COAs, heavy-metal/contaminant testing, FSVP, FDA requirements).
- Ability to travel to and operate in China extensively, or to be based there.

PREFERRED
- Existing China supplier and lab relationships in the nutraceutical/supplement space.
- Experience with softgel manufacturing (gelatin and plant-based), liquids, and custom flexible/rigid packaging.
- Cosmetics or personal-care commercialization experience (serums/creams) and familiarity with MoCRA, NMPA cosmetics, and EU cosmetics regulation a strong differentiator given the beauty line.
- Exposure to EU/UK regulatory and labeling requirements for supplements.
- Comfort working in a fast, AI-enabled operating environment with strong ownership.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
You make Clean Nutra structurally cheaper to produce and faster to innovate than our competitors, with a China supply base we trust on quality and can scale into Europe and beyond all without ever compromising compliance or taste.

Compensation: $90,000$110,000 base, plus a 10% performance bonus tied to landed-cost savings and launch milestones. This role reports directly to the CEO.
