The Marketplace Manager is responsible for owning and growing the company's third-party marketplace business, with a primary focus on Amazon Seller Central (3P), but also including eBay and Walmart. This role is a hands-on operator responsible for driving revenue, optimizing listings, managing FBA inventory, and improving overall marketplace performance.

This individual will manage agency partners for paid media execution, lead listing strategy and optimization, and ensure operational excellence across inventory and customer experience. The Marketplace Manager will also lead a small team, including an Amazon Specialist and a Customer Service Representative, to execute day-to-day marketplace activities.

Primary Duties

Marketplace Ownership & Performance

  • Own overall Amazon 3P performance including:
    •  Revenue, margin, and contribution to Marketplace channel goals
    • Traffic, conversion rate, and average order value
  •  Identify:
    •  Growth opportunities across categories, keywords, and assortment
    • Performance gaps across listings, pricing, and content
  • Deliver recurring insights that clearly answer:
    • Where are we growing?
    • Where are we underperforming?
    • What actions will improve performance?

Listing Management & Optimization

  • Oversee product listing lifecycle including:
    • Creation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance
    • Optimization of titles, bullets, A+ content, images, and backend keywords
    • Ensure listings align with brand standards and marketplace best practices
  •  Monitor:
    • Listing health, suppression issues, and compliance requirements
    • Keyword ranking, content effectiveness, and conversion performance
    • Drive continuous improvement in organic visibility and conversion rates

Paid Media & Agency Management

  • Manage external agency responsible for Amazon advertising (SP, SB, SD, DSP)
    • Own:
      • Budget allocation and performance expectations
      • Campaign performance reviews and optimization direction
    • Ensure alignment between:
      • Paid media strategy and organic ranking goals
      • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency (ACOS / TACOS) and scale high-performing campaigns

FBA Inventory & Operational Management

  • Manage FBA inventory planning including:
    • Forecasting, replenishment, and sell-through tracking
  • Monitor:
    • In-stock rates, aged inventory, and storage costs
    • Coordinate with operations and supply chain to ensure inventory availability
  • Optimize:
    • Fulfillment efficiency, inbound shipments, and inventory turns
    • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to stockouts or excess inventory

Competitive & Market Analysis

  • Conduct ongoing analysis across:
    • Competitive pricing, assortment, and positioning
    • Category trends and keyword performance
    • Customer behavior and conversion drivers
  • Identify:
    • Competitive gaps and opportunities
    • Pricing pressure and promotional trends
    • Provide actionable insights to improve marketplace positioning and performance

Team Leadership & Execution

  • Directly manage:
    • Amazon Specialist (listing execution, catalog management)
    • Customer Service Representative (customer inquiries, feedback management)
  • Establish:
    • Clear KPIs, workflows, and accountability for marketplace operations
    • Ensure high-quality execution across listings, content, and customer experience
    • Drive a culture of ownership, urgency, and data-driven decision making
Education / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Ecommerce, or a related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Amazon Seller Central (3P required)
  • Proven experience driving growth in Amazon marketplace environments
  • Strong understanding of: Amazon SEO, listing optimization, and ranking factors, Amazon advertising (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display), FBA inventory management and forecasting.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $104,300.00 to $130,300.00. This role is also eligible for a bonus. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.

As a Dorman US contributor, you (and eligible dependents, as applicable) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid time off (sick/vacation), and Paid Parental Leave. U.S. employees are entitled to paid holidays, floating holidays, and paid time off starting in their first year of employment depending on hire date. You are also able to participate in our 401k retirement plan (with company match and profit-sharing) and Discounted Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
