The Team: The Fuse tech team is an innovative and high-energy team that is working on Amazon Fuse, a wholesale subscription service that enables 3rd party enterprises with billing and distribution capabilities. Fuse has created a one stop integration point for service teams (e.g. Prime, Music, Video, more) to be able to offer their subscription services through the top global partners who collectively offer subscriber billing services to more than 4B consumers. While we use existing Amazon systems when possible, you'll be working on challenging problems that need innovative solutions.
As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work directly enabling new external vendor on Amazon marketplaces, owning major deliverables across all aspects of development: scoping, design, implementation, and testing. Successful candidates can multi-task, quickly adapt to new development environments, learn new systems, create reliable/maintainable code, and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems.
The ideal candidate is excited about technology and passionate about learning and should view every customer interaction as an opportunity to create an exceptional customer experience. Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, excited to work in a "green field". The right candidate will wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment that is more startup than big company.
Key job responsibilities
The Role: As a Software Development Engineer, you will work with a team of talented engineers to build low-latency solutions for frontend, middle tier and backend as well as identify and evaluate new technology options for the challenges we are trying to solve. You will work with a variety of core languages, microservices, and technologies including Java, Dynamo DB, Lambda, SQS, SNS and many other AWS services. We are looking for a smart engineer who can effectively deal with ambiguity and work independently to clarify requirements, build prototypes and deliver results quickly. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
