As a Senior Operations Manager at one of our first robotics sortable buildings in North Carolina located in beautiful Charlotte, NC, you'll be at the helm of a large-scale operation that delivers for millions of Amazon customers every day. What You'll Do
• Own the operation - Take full accountability for budgetary performance, people development, and operational excellence across your functional area (Inbound or Outbound).
• Lead and develop leaders - Manage, coach, and mentor a team of Operations and Area Managers, setting clear expectations and holding them accountable while building the next generation of Amazon leaders.
• Drive continuous improvement - Champion Lean initiatives, process innovations, and quality programs that push your team and the FC to exceed business goals.
• Deliver a world-class customer experience - Ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met or exceeded every single day.
• Collaborate cross-functionally - Partner with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and peer leaders to secure resources, share best practices, and drive site-wide success.
• Cultivate ideas - Source and nurture innovative ideas from your team, translating them into actionable improvement plans that raise the bar across the network.
• Share best practices - Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and the broader network.
Additional Job Elements to this hands-on Leadership Role:
• Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head
• Walking in the FC and around area with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length
• Continual standing and/or walking an average of 5 miles daily
• Ability to work in construction /distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, not air-conditioned
• Able to access all areas of building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience
- Work flexible hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
- 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment
- Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques
- Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
- Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation
- Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations or related field. MBA preferred

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
