Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced IBM API Connect Lead with over 10 years of enterprise integration and API development experience, including at least 5 years of hands-on expertise with IBM API Connect (APIC). The ideal candidate will lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise API solutions while driving API strategy, mentoring development teams, and ensuring secure, scalable, and cloud-native integrations. Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments is essential, while AWS and Red Hat OpenShift experience are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise API and integration solutions
• Design secure, scalable, and reusable REST and SOAP APIs aligned with enterprise standards
• Translate business requirements into technical architecture, solution designs, and implementation plans
• Guide technical teams throughout the API development lifecycle from design to deployment
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership across integration initiatives
• Implement API security using industry best practices and enterprise standards
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders to deliver integration solutions
• Support production environments by troubleshooting issues and optimizing API performance
• Ensure API governance, documentation, versioning, and lifecycle management
• Promote best practices for cloud-native development and enterprise integration
Required Skills:
• 10+ years of enterprise integration and API development experience
• 5+ years of hands-on IBM API Connect (APIC) experience
• Strong experience developing RESTful and SOAP web services
• Expertise in API security including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and TLS
• Strong knowledge of JSON, XML, and XSLT
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized application environments
• Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and implementation plans
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring developers
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE)
• Experience with IBM MQ messaging solutions
