Location: Portland, Oregon
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Four (4) days per week in the office with the possibility of one (1) remote workday. Candidates must be residents of Oregon or Washington to be considered for remote work.
Pay: $21.00–$22.00 per hour

Position Summary

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing accounts receivable billing and a variety of accounting and administrative support functions under the direction of the Billing Manager and/or Accounting Manager. This position plays an important role in supporting the Finance Department and ensuring accurate, timely, and organized accounting processes that contribute to the agency's operational success.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process agency purchase orders.
  • Download and distribute daily banking reports to the Billing and Accounting teams.
  • Support Accounts Payable, Payroll, and other Finance Department projects as assigned by the VP of Finance.
  • Manage Amazon and Staples business accounts, including updating addresses and departments, reviewing orders, and ensuring appropriate approvals.
  • Scan and organize documents for month-end closing.
  • Assist with accounting data entry and other administrative accounting tasks.
  • Complete all required agency training.
  • Assist with Positive Pay processing and maintain check registers through the bank website.
  • Manage company credit card administration, including password resets, credit limit adjustments, and new account setup.
  • Maintain accounting files and records in a secure, accurate, and organized manner.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Coursework in business, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
  • Experience using database software is required.
  • Previous accounting or administrative experience is preferred.
Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Experience working with spreadsheets and database programs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Licenses & Requirements
  • Valid driver's license for state of residence with a driving record acceptable to the agency.
  • When authorized to use a personal vehicle for agency business, employees must maintain current personal automobile insurance.
  • Must be a resident of Oregon or Washington.
