Job description

Description

INTRODUCTION: This position reports to Welding Supervisor and Welding Lead. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

ROBOT WELDER: Performs duties associated with all areas of robotic welding parts for production.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:

a) Weld parts to schedule and Work Instruction (WI) specifications.

b) Verify with Quality 1st piece inspection.

c) Hammer-stamp on all products produced.

d) Count and label products correctly.

e) Preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties of welding area as required and assigned.

f) Meet or exceed efficiency rates.

g) Meet quality welding standards.

h) Removal of non-conforming material at the end of the shift.

i) Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: 

a) Completion of High School education or GED.

b) Previous MIG welding experience preferred.

a) Must be able to consistently and on daily basis while performing work, safely; stand, twist, lift, bend, stoop, reach, kneel.

b) Ability to follow, understand and strictly abide by the Work Instructions. (WI)

c) Ability to work in a safe and productive manner at all times wearing required OSHA PPE.

d) Highly dependable, motivated and self-driven with excellent attendance.

e) High level of attention to detail is a must.

f) Able to use handheld and power driven tools correctly and safely.

g) Must pass pre-established requirements for company visual and penetration standards as determined by supervision.

h) Must be able to accurately and correctly read and comprehend blueprints.

i) Capable of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment and rotate amongst various machines within this area (including but not limited to Press, etc...)

j) Ability and dexterity to work in all welding department areas with varied part/product weights and size.

k) Mechanically inclined.

l) Ability to gain knowledge, understanding and comply with JOST Basic Processes and JOST Safety Environmental and Quality standards, policies and procedures.

m) Able to read and write legible as defined by company standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

a) Work is performed in a manufacturing setting.  

b) While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand 8 - 10 hours during shift, walk, see, hear, use hands, reach, stoop, bend, twist, and occasionally will be required to repetitively lift or move objects which weigh a minimum of 41# pounds to a maximum 51# pounds.

I will be given written work instructions on how I am to perform this job and I will be fully trained in this position according to those work instructions. I understand that if I fail to perform, I will be disciplined, leading up to and/or including termination of my employment.
