POSITION SUMMARY

Alterra Mountain Company is seeking a People Technology Administrator to support the administration, stability, and continuous improvement of Alterra's People Technology ecosystem, with Workday as the core platform.

This role executes system configuration, testing, reporting, and end-user support across core Workday HCM and one to two assigned modules under the guidance of senior team members, while building the platform depth, certification, and business knowledge that define the path to Senior People Technology Administrator. The People Technology Administrator plays a key role in keeping Alterra's people systems accurate, secure, and intuitive for a diverse workforce across North America.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Platform Administration & Support

  • Serve as an administrator for Workday and supporting People Technology tools, with working exposure across the full ecosystem including Absence, Benefits, Compensation, HCM, Payroll, Performance, Recruiting, Reporting, Scheduling, Security, Talent, and Time Tracking.
  • Support the day-to-day operational needs of the Workday environment including user management, role changes, data changes, and analysis.
  • Monitor the ticketing queue, resolve Tier 1-2 functional and technical issues, and escalate complex issues with clear context and steps to reproduce.
  • Help maintain data integrity, business process accuracy, and overall tenant health.

Configuration & Testing

  • Execute configuration changes in core HCM and one to two assigned modules under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Create and run test scripts that cover all acceptance criteria; log and track defects with steps to reproduce.
  • Participate in peer review of configuration and incorporate feedback before changes move to production.
  • Apply Workday leading practices and documented requirements to every change.

Reporting & Data Enablement

  • Run and interpret standard reports; build custom reports (advanced and matrix) for functional partners.
  • Validate data during migrations, integrations, and mass loads; flag anomalies promptly.
  • Explain report logic and field sources to business users and document reporting solutions for technical and functional audiences.

Release & Change Support

  • Execute assigned regression and feature testing for biannual Workday releases, documenting impacts and enhancement opportunities.
  • Prepare and upload Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs) for mass data entry with senior review.
  • Support communication and adoption of system changes with business unit partners.

Learning & Growth

  • Actively pursue Workday Pro certification with company-supported study time and exam funding.
  • Use Workday Community for self-service research and contribute findings to the team knowledge base.
  • Participate in quarterly career conversations tracking progress against the Workday Competency Framework, including co-designed solution work with senior team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of Workday experience, including hands-on configuration exposure in HCM or a supporting module.
  • Business analysis fundamentals, including requirements gathering, testing, and documentation for both technical and functional audiences.
  • Experience defining and executing test plans and test scenarios.
  • Proficient in the MS Office suite, with strong Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge of Workday Reporting tools; exposure to Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) data loads preferred.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with a focus on data integrity.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and learn new technologies and processes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Diploma or certificate in human resource management, or equivalent experience. Diploma or certificate in information technology will also be considered.
  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in Human Resources, Information Technology or similarly applicable field.

Preferred:

  • Workday PRO certification, or active progress toward one.
  • Exposure to two or more Workday modules beyond core HCM.
  • Experience in Microsoft Power BI tool or other analytic tools.

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc.'s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Denver area base salary range: $80,000 - $112,000 per year
