Job description

Senior Director, Head of Investments
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Director, Head of Investments for AIM (Advyzon Investment Management) to help lead and scale the firm's trading and investment management functions. The ideal candidate will help to oversee the trading and investment teams, ensuring operational excellence across trading, new capability development, 3rd party strategist platform growth, transition management, tax loss harvesting, and portfolio implementation. This individual will play a key role in guiding the growth of the new AIM Alternatives Model Marketplace. This role requires a strategic operator with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills who can develop scalable operational processes, enhance service delivery, and support the continued growth of the AIM platform.
Key Responsibilities
  • Help to lead and manage AIM's trading and investment teams, including hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching of staff.
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for complex investment issues, ensuring timely resolution, minimal trade errors and strong advisor relationships.
  • Oversee new account transitions, ensuring a consistent and scalable onboarding experience for firms joining the AIM platform.
  • Help lead the development of AIM's new Alternatives Model Marketplace, including the selection of strategies to be included on the platform.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives and service standards that enhance operational efficiency, investment performance, and the advisor experience.
  • Assist with portfolio management of in-house asset allocation, equity, and fixed income strategies.
  • Partner with leadership across technology, product, compliance, and relationship management to ensure operational readiness for new platform capabilities and advisor growth initiatives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risk to AIM and advisory firm clients, arising from trading, investments, vendor issues, and other sources.

Skills / Qualifications
  • 10+ years of financial services experience, preferably within a TAMP, RIA platform, custodian, or wealth management operations environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing a trading function (mutual funds, ETFs, equities, fixed income, and/or derivatives), investment selection, portfolio construction, alternative strategy platform, and traditional SMA platform.
  • Strong understanding of RIA, TAMP, and custodial operational platforms and workflows.
  • Experience developing and implementing operational procedures, scalable workflows, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to manage complex operational issues and escalations while maintaining strong advisor relationships.
  • Experience working with fintech product developers and managers to enhance productivity, improve accuracy, and implement new functionality.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A self-starter with strong attention to detail, capable of working independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree, CFA, CAIA, and/or CFP preferred.

Compensation
$115k, 30% bonus
This is a hybrid position at our Lisle location.
