Ignite is currently seeking a driven, detail-Model Based Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role you will support the Space Warfighting and Analysis Center and Space Security and Defense Program develop threat models using MBSE methodologies. This position will be filled in Colorado Springs, COResponsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop, integrate, and maintain model-based systems engineering (MBSE) artifacts and system-of-systems architectures supporting Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and space warfighting missions.

Apply MBSE methods (SysML-based) to define end-to-end architectures, including sensor, transport, processing, and decision layers across distributed space and ground systems. Collaborate with government stakeholders (e.g., SSDP, SWAC, SDA) and cross-functional teams to define mission needs, capability gaps, and architecture trade spaces. Support force design and architecture analysis, translating operational concepts into executable system models and analytic representations

Integrate MBSE with modeling & simulation (M&S), data analytics, and prototype environments to enable rapid evaluation of alternatives and mission performance. Develop and maintain requirements traceability across the digital engineering ecosystem, linking mission objectives to system architectures, interfaces, and verification artifacts. Lead or contribute to the development of digital engineering strategies, MBSE standards, and modeling governance to ensure consistency and interoperability across programs.

Perform analysis of complex space systems, including SDA sensor networks, tracking architectures, and data fusion pipelines, under realistic operational constraints. Communicate technical findings and architecture recommendations to senior stakeholders to support decision-making and future capability development. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and security requirements.

Job Requirements and Qualifications: Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM discipline (Master's preferred). Active TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain SCI). Demonstrated experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML and industry-standard tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent)

Strong background in Space Domain Awareness (SDA), including sensor architectures, tracking, and space systems integration. Experience with systems-of-systems architecture development, particularly in space, missile warning/tracking, or C2 environments. Ability to translate operational concepts into technical architectures and analytic models.

Experience supporting DoD or IC customers in space or missile defense domains.Desired Qualifications Experience supporting Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Space Development Agency (SDA), or SSDP missions. Familiarity with digital engineering ecosystems, including integration with M&S tools (e.g., AFSIM, STK, MATLAB/Simulink). Knowledge of DoDAF/UAF architecture frameworks and application within MBSE environments

Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and bidirectional traceability. Understanding of astrodynamics, orbital mechanics, and space sensor phenomenology. Exposure to data analytics, Python-based modeling, or statistical analysis for system performance evaluation

Familiarity with SysML v2.0 concepts and emerging MBSE standards.
