Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker I

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Conyers, GA

Department: Manufacturing

Reports To: Department Manager

SUMMARY:

Assembles, installs and repairs sheet metal products, parts and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assembles units, exhaust fans, house doors, damper hoods and makes pan rings according to job order

· Smooths burred surfaces with files and grinders

· Lay and attach metal or wood flooring and/or covering

· Apply primer, paint, and caulk as needed

· Perform close up requirements

· Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

· Ability to understand structural drawings

· Understanding of 6S

· Basic math skills

· Basic reading/writing skills

· Knowledge of basic hand tools

· Ability to read/understand a tape measure

· Ability to use a paintbrush

· Ability to operate air assisted paint gun

· Knowledge of different types of flooring

· Knowledge and understanding of metal types and gauging

· Ability to utilize pneumatic/hydraulic hand tools

· Ability to operate a forklift

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to six months related experience and/or training.
