What is an alternate channel sales manager?

Alternate Channel Sales Managers are professionals responsible for developing and managing sales strategies through non-traditional or indirect sales channels, such as distributors, partners, retailers, or online platforms. They identify new market opportunities, build relationships with channel partners, and ensure sales targets are met outside of the primary sales force. These managers play a crucial role in expanding a company's product reach and increasing revenue by tapping into alternative sales avenues.

As an Alternate Channel Sales Manager, you will regularly collaborate with external partners such as distributors, resellers, or franchisees to develop joint sales strategies and ensure alignment with company goals. Internally, you’ll work closely with marketing, product, and supply chain teams to coordinate campaigns, share market feedback, and resolve operational challenges. Building strong relationships and maintaining clear communication across these groups is key to identifying new opportunities, addressing partner needs, and driving consistent revenue growth through alternate sales channels.
