As a Tailor/Seamstress (Production Associate) at GALLS, you will be hands-on, altering the uniforms and equipment of our nations Public Safety professionals. You will ensure all measurements and fittings are completed properly, accurately, and efficiently so they can wear the uniform proudly. At GALLS, we are PROUD to Serve, and it all starts on our Production and Value-Added Service Team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Read and accurately identify the customers needs per the Work Instruction Document
  • Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations, with the ability to problem-solve individual sizing issues
  • Operate a heat press safely and efficiently
  • Perform uniform sewing, alterations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency, to include taking up stride, lengthening/shortening tails on shirts, tapering shirts, adjusting waists, hemming trousers, mending tears, replacing zippers, applying patches, applying name strips, applying striping, and applying patches
  • Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Previous experience in Alterations preferred. GALLS will train!
  • Well-versed in industrial Sewing machines, preferred. GALLS will train!
  • Ability to effectively read/receive work instructions in English
  • Extremely detail-oriented and quality-focused youre not happy with mistakes
  • Solid communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation
