Job description

HVAC Controls Technician

Hunter-Davisson, Inc. is a commercial HVAC-R Design Build Mechanical Contractor seeking a Controls Tech to join our growing team. The person we are seeking is a team player who is organized, has solid worth ethic and demonstrates outstanding customer service.

Our brand and reputation for providing quality HVAC and refrigeration service, preventative maintenance and installations in the commercial market has led to our continued success. 

Essential Job Functions:
  • Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how and where to install direct digital controls (DDC) products
  • Perform various DDC programming and calibrate systems as needed.
  • Install and/or retrofit HVAC equipment and direct digital controls.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools, welder torch, vacuum pump, test equipment utilized in the trade and a motor vehicle; maintain equipment in effective and safe working condition; maintain parts and tool inventory.
  • Perform skilled electrical work in the installation and alteration of HVAC equipment, components, motors and wiring systems as needed; connect motors to control panels.
  • Install, rebuild, replace or repair fans, motors, thermostats, fuses, filters, bearings, valves, controls, gaskets and other equipment as necessary.
  • Low-voltage wiring.
  • Maintain related records concerning time, labor and materials; maintain log of tasks performed and write reports as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Comply with all aspects of company safety program.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
Knowledge of:
  • Standard practices of the HVAC trade.
  • Theory of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Materials, methods and tools used in the installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Applicable building codes, ordinances and regulations of State and local authorities pertaining to HVAC, refrigeration, and controls.
  • Health and safety regulations.
  • Niagara N4; Spyders; IntelliPak; Daikin, Riptide, HW Cyper and DDC programming. Honeywell controls.
