The Altair Mixologist is responsible for delivering an elevated and memorable beverage experience within our luxurious, upscale lounge environment. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled mixologist with a deep understanding of spirits, flavor profiles, premium ingredients, and advanced cocktail techniques, along with the creativity to craft distinctive and thoughtfully presented beverages. This role combines exceptional mixology with refined, personalized guest service, requiring strong communication, attention to detail, and a passion for creating experiences that drive beverage sales and exceed guest expectations while maintaining compliance with all SNHD requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Craft and present cocktails with precision, consistency, and visual sophistication that reflect Altair's brand positioning
  • Partner with beverage leadership to design and refine seasonal and signature cocktail menus
  • Maintain impeccable bar presentation, tools, and glassware standards
  • Train and mentor Apprentice Mixologists and junior bar staff on technique, service protocol, and menu knowledge
  • Deliver highly personalized beverage recommendations based on guest preferences, demonstrating expert knowledge of spirits, ingredients, flavor profiles, and cocktail preparation.
  • Anticipate guest needs and preferences while maintaining a discreet, attentive, and highly personalized level of service.
  • Engage guests with confidence and sophistication, creating genuine connections while maintaining the elevated atmosphere and ambiance of Altair.
  • Set up and maintain the bar for full operation, ensuring supplies, products, tools, glassware, and service areas are consistently ready and meet Altair's luxury standards.
  • Master recipes to craft and serve beverages - including premium and luxury spirits - following the proper sequence of service, presentation standards, and appropriate guest recommendations.
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly to maintain Altair's elevated presentation standards
  • Deliver food and beverage orders accurately and promptly from kitchen/bar to guest tables
  • Communicate proactively with kitchen, bar, and floor staff to ensure smooth service flow
  • Communicate food orders or changes to chef and staff throughout shift.
  • Handle credit transactions accurately at the point of sale system.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic workstation in accordance with Clark County health standards.
  • Provide an accurate inventory count of products prior to and at the end of every shift.
  • Monitor potentially intoxicated and/or disruptive guests and promptly bring concerns to a manager's attention.
  • Respond to guest concerns/complaints, resolve issues with a positive attitude and know when to escalate.
  • Act as a brand advocate by providing guests with accurate information regarding venues, menus, and pricing.
  • Always communicate effectively with all levels of employees and visitors.
  • Participate in promotional activities and themed events - posing for pictures, wearing uniforms, logo apparel, or costumes, and engaging in marketing efforts to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Participate and appear in marketing, publicity, or media materials.
  • Uphold Altair's standards of discretion and professionalism when interacting with VIPs, high-profile guests, and other distinguished visitors.
  • Exhibit ART! (AREA15's service standards) at all times.

Position Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Comfortable working in a creative, entrepreneurial start-up environment, introducing new concepts and innovations.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience crafting alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages within a high-volume, craft beverage venue, with advanced technical skill in classic and contemporary cocktail craft - muddling, layering, house-made syrups and bitters, infusions, and garnish/flame presentation.
  • Prior experience in luxury hospitality, fine dining, high-end lounges, cocktail bars, resorts, or other premium guest service environments preferred.
  • Ability to provide highly personalized service and anticipate guest needs in an upscale hospitality environment.
  • Exceptional knowledge of premium and luxury spirits - including rare and high-end selections - as well as traditional and non-traditional (trending) spirits, wine, champagne, beer, and crafted cocktails, with proper service techniques and appropriate guest recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of luxury cocktail presentation, including proper glassware, garnishes, ice, temperature, and visual presentation.
  • Ability to confidently describe and recommend cocktails, spirits, and other beverages while tailoring recommendations to individual guest preferences and driving beverage sales.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to consistency in beverage preparation, presentation, and service.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and composure when interacting with VIPs, high-profile guests, and distinguished visitors.
  • Valid work cards, including Health, Alcohol Awareness Card, and Non-Gaming.
  • Ability to maintain personal integrity, focus, and composure under pressure.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to learn.
