Alpha Corporation is a woman-owned multidisciplinary construction consulting firm providing engineering design, program and construction management, project controls, claims management, and asset management services.

We are seeking an experienced Vertical Construction Manager (CM) to lead field operations for a 150,000 square foot Defense Manufacturing and Distribution Facility in James City County, VA.

This is a long-term, full-time assignment running through November 2027. The selected CM will serve as the on-site leader, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Owner will provide lodging, per diem, and project-related expenses for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day vertical construction activities on-site
Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and vendors
Monitor schedule, sequencing, and production performance
Enforce site safety and quality control standards
Lead weekly progress meetings and reporting
Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and security requirements
Partner closely with Owner representatives and project stakeholders

Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a Construction Manager on large-scale
7-8 years of experience in either industrial or manufacturing facilities
Strong background in vertical construction (ground-up preferred)
Experience managing projects 100,000+ SF
Ability to manage complex coordination across multiple trades
Strong scheduling and documentation experience
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to commit full-time work through November 2027

Preferred Experience
Experience with manufacturing, distribution, or defense-related facilities
Familiarity with secure or controlled-access environments
Experience working with Owner-led projects
Have a CCM Certification

Physical Demands
The incumbent in this position can typically expect to sit and use his/her hands to handle and feel for more than 1/3 of the day. He/she can expect to stand or walk for more than 2/3 of the day. Talking and listening are also expected for more than 2/3 of the day. The ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, or reach with arms will be needed for less than 2/3 of the day.
This position requires that the incumbent be able to lift items up to 70 pounds on an infrequent basis.
The incumbent in this position should have clear vision at 20 inches or less. He/she should be able to view various reports and forms as well as information displayed on a computer monitor and have the ability to distinguish between different colors. Depth perception, peripheral vision, the ability to focus, and the ability to see from a distance are also necessary.
