Job description

The primary purpose of a Specialist, Market Development, Robotics & Intraoperative Technologies is to provide competent clinical service, technical support, training, and implementation of the Valence Robotic Navigation System and other ATEC enabling intraoperative technologies in spine surgeries to hospitals, surgeon customers, and sales agent representatives, in one or two assigned development geographies. Responsibilities include procedural setup and calibration, training surgeon and clinical teams, sales demonstrations, delivering clinical case support, and educating regional sales teams who will support cases with gained proficiency. Further, this role aligns closely with marketing and sales leadership to achieve strategic company objectives in those geographies while using and growing skills as a driver of market development plans. This position requires travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform demonstrations, installations, new customer and on-going case support of degenerative and deformity spinal procedures involving Alpha Informatix technologies, primarily the Valence Robotic Navigation System.
  • Work closely with Sales Agents, Surgeons, Operating Room Personnel, and Biomedical Departments to support the Valence Robotic Navigation System and other Alpha Informatix technologies.
  • Conduct on-site training sessions to credential surgeons with the intraoperative system's features, functionalities, and best practices for optimal performance.
  • Train and mentor local support teams, ensuring their proficiency in providing clinical and technical assistance.
  • Ensure proper system setup of equipment, including the required calibration steps are achieved.
  • Assist surgical teams during procedures, ensuring proper setup, workflow, and utilization.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during surgery and provide real-time solutions to maintain the continuity of the procedure.
  • Provide ongoing remote support and consultation to local teams, ensuring consistent delivery of procedural standardization.
  • Partner closely with the Sales Operations, Customer Service, and Set Administration departments to assure customer satisfaction and company asset management objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including surgeons, hospital administrators, and support teams, to ensure effective integration and adoption of technologies.
  • Collect and understand relevant spinal technology market development data.
  • Align regularly with Marketing and Sales Leadership and identifies opportunities to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Maintain a knowledge base of procedures, implant systems and instruments through Alphatec Spine's education training programs.
  • Adhere to written procedures for troubleshooting and support of ATEC products.
  • Actively participate in field-based core and advanced trainings to employees, Sales Agent representatives, and Surgeons.
  • Proactively assist with collection and dissemination of feedback provided by customers.
  • Provide prompt and accurate complaint reports per the quality system requirements.
  • Continuously increase knowledge of new developments within the assigned market as well as Alpha Informatix / ATEC Spine products to perform as a subject matter expert.
  • Complete required administrative duties such as activity logs, travel reports, expense reports, etc. per established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in company and industry events such as sales meetings, seminars, training programs, conventions, trade shows, etc. as requested.
  • Maintain all current Certifications and Vendor Hospital Credentialing.
  • Actively participate in development programs focused on surgeon and sales relationship building / management.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
