0StatCare is a private Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep, and Hospitalist medical practice dedicated to providing high-quality inpatient & outpatient care to patients throughout East Tennessee. Our physicians and advanced practice providers are committed to delivering patient-centered care to ensuring continuity, expertise, and compassion at every stage of hospitalization. StatCare strives to work collaboratively with hospital partners, nurses, and support staff, improving health outcomes and elevate the standard of care for the communities we are proud to serve.
Respiratory Therapists (RT) are responsible for assisting the physician(s) with the respiratory assessment and treatment of patient needs in the office / clinical setting.
KEY REsponsibilities:
  • Perform necessary procedures with non-invasive methods such as CPAP and BIPAP therapies
  • Educate and counsel staff members on basic respiratory therapy procedures
  • Assist with therapy programs for patients based on the specific instructions of Physicians
  • Engage in diagnostic evaluation, treatment and control of deficiencies and abnormal functions found in the patient's cardiopulmonary system
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to administer blood gas samples and perform basic analysis

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge and ability to perform sound basic clinical procedures, such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, various tests, etc., as needed
  • Experience with prior authorizations and medication refills
  • Ability to adjust pace of work flow effectivel
  • Skill in verbal communication.
  • Ability to apply policies and principles to solve everyday problems and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Ability to work effectively with physicians, patients, staff and the public.

EDUCATION: Associate Degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy required
CERTIFICATION or LICENSE:
  • Active Respiratory Therapist certification required
  • RN Certification preferred
  • BLS Certification
  • CXR Certification preferred

Experience:
  • At least six months experience in a similar setting preferred
  • Familiarity with Allscripts and Cerner preferred
