Alliant Insurance Services offers a role focused on providing analytical and consultative support for stop loss and high‑cost claim management. The position involves leading and supporting clinical risk analysis, cost containment initiatives, and client renewal discussions within a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research, review clinical notes, and prepare claims data loss analysis to provide actionable recommendations for clients and prospects.
- Leverage systems to develop reporting that monitors and proactively reports on group risk, identifies cost impact, and partners with service teams to develop solutions for upcoming client renewals.
- Lead and/or support discussions regarding stop loss renewal and cost containment.
- Support training, development, and oversight of a team of Clinical Risk Consultants, including management and action plans for notable trends across carriers and clients.
- Identify cost containment trends and evaluate industry vendors to support cost mitigation efforts outside of traditional medical and pharmacy carriers.
- Collaborate with Alliant Analytics SMEs to support operational efficiencies for data reviews.
Qualifications Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thirteen (13) or more years within the insurance industry, with experience handling stop loss, high‑cost claims, and cost containment for self‑funded group health plan clients.
- Clinical background with experience providing consultation to plan sponsors of employee group benefit plans.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of stop loss insurance, self‑funded group insurance, cost containment, and vendor selection.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations impacting employer‑provided group health insurance.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting and tax consequences for self‑funded plans.
- Familiarity with vendor selection best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to the audience.
- Analytical ability to develop plans addressing identified issues.
- Collaborative and strategic relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and fluctuating workload.
