Job description

Our award-winning team delivers innovative architecture that shapes skylines and strengthens communities across the country.
PHย is seeking Architectural candidates at the entry-level, mid-level, and senior management levels to join our dynamic and growing Chicago office. The ideal candidate will be an integral member of the project team, contributing across all phases of design โ€” from schematic design through construction completion โ€” while building strong client relationships that support the firmโ€™s continued growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in conceptual design and provide support throughout all phases of a project
  • Perform design, planning, occupancy, and layout analyses
  • Develop and execute technical design solutions that meet client and project requirements
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, details, and construction techniques
  • Provide planning, design, and coordination support for projects ranging from small to large scale
  • Carry out complex assignments requiring the development or refinement of techniques and procedures
  • Plan, develop, and produce technical documentation
  • Coordinate with consultants through schematic design, design development, and construction document phases
  • Perform construction administration duties, including site observations, observation reports, and responses to RFIs and submittals
  • Participate in marketing efforts and assist with presentations to prospective clients, as needed
  • Establish and maintain productive, long-term client relationships
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced architects, as applicable

Job Requirements:

  • Completed a five-year architectural degree or Masters in Architecture
  • Licensed Architect or is on path to licensure
  • Experience at all levels welcomeย 
  • Professional experience in multifamily residential projects (preferred)
  • Understanding zoning and building code regulationsย (preferred)
  • BIM modeling experience
  • Demonstrates strong technical and graphic skills
  • Possesses creativity, self-discipline, strong leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop, communicate, and present design concepts to project teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
