Cladding/Canning Operator (1st shift)
We are looking for a Cladding and Canning Operator (1st shift: 6am - 2:30pm M-F) for our Plymouth, MI facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient blending, mixing, curing, and screening of the clad product line on a day-to-day basis. You will be expected to meet or exceed all HSE, quality, delivery, and productivity goals within your area of responsibility. The Cladding and Canning Operator will coordinate and process work orders in a timely manner and actively investigate, communicate, and resolve issues related to safety, quality, maintenance, and planning in collaboration with key managers. This role also requires maintaining detailed production records and contributing to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to help achieve world-class processes and products.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Blend, mix, cure, screen, and pack clad products.
  • Understand work instructions and product specifications.
  • Select proper screening equipment to maximize yield.
  • Follow product parameters during mixing and curing for a repeatable product to our customers.
  • Comply with all HSE and Quality procedures and policies -- corporate and regulatory.
  • Ensure Oerlikon Five Golden Rules of safety are followed at all times.
  • Investigate and resolve problems affecting HSE, quality, and productivity when required.
  • Maintain proper inventory of materials, supplies, and consumables.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance within scope of responsibility and skills.
  • Maintain and process all production records in a timely manner.
  • Continually improve procedures and equipment for safety, quality, lean behaviors, and productivity. Serve as a resource for leads and team members driving improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Your Profile:
  • High School Education: experience may substitute
  • Proficient in Mathematics (Decimals, Fractions, Percentages, Weighted Averages)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office
  • Strong customer focus - internal and external.
  • Ability to safely operate cranes, forklift and/or powered industrial vehicles preferred.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour shift.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and repetitive movement.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs throughout the shift.
  • Comfortability working in an occasionally noisy and dusty environment.
