We are looking for a Assistant Casting Coordinator. This role supports Casting Directors, clients, and background actors across all aspects of the casting process. As an entry point into the casting function at Central Casting, the Casting Coordinator operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and serves as a key point of contact for day-to-day casting logistics. This role may require varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, overnight, and weekends, based on business need and works under the supervision of a Casting Director and/or Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a primary point of contact on a high volume of inbound calls and voicemails from clients and background actors, responding with professionalism and urgency to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication across all interactions while staying organized and responsive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Collaborate with Casting Directors and clients by pulling photos by accurate description, booking last-minute replacements, rush calls, and additional hires, calling, emailing and/or texting details, call time changes, checking background availability, and setting up fittings and interviews.
  • Maintain an efficient workflow transition across varying shifts by communicating and finalizing pending show information with clients and background actors and updating casting briefings.
  • Acquire expertise in production paperwork including call sheets, prelims, and final prelims.
  • Complete thorough recap notes in opening, nightly, and weekend Casting Coordinator reports, if applicable.
  • Process Cast Clearances, Taft Hartley paperwork, and Occurrence Reports, if applicable.
  • Provide SAG-AFTRA and studio security a nightly list of all background actors working the next day, if applicable.
  • Develop a working knowledge of union contracts and adult and child labor laws to appropriately support clients and background actors during calls, pre-booking activities, and day-to-day logistics.
  • Become proficient and knowledgeable with all office systems including EPCP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom).
  • Assist in Visiting as scheduled, a Q&A session with Casting Directors and Background Actors, if applicable.
  • Cast projects as assigned under the supervision of a Casting Director and/or Management.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by engaging respectfully with colleagues, clients, and background actors at all levels.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a client service field or equivalent.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish 
  • Experience in a scheduling, staffing, or coordination role
  • Experience in or general knowledge of the entertainment industry, including familiarity with union and labor environments.
  • Excellent client service and people skills with the ability to work with many different personality types.
  • Effective solution-based problem-solving skills including decision making, time management, and immediate prioritization of tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with superior attention to detail.
  • Strong pro-active work ethic with a proven record of dependability and the ability to quickly adapt to new concepts, ideas, workflows, and responsibilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams, and Zoom.
  • Comfortable learning and navigating new technology and internal systems; ability to quickly become proficient in casting-specific platforms and tools.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to work overtime as required by business needs.

The hourly rate for this position in $20.19 and will be commensurate with experience related to the position.
