Client: Indian Health Service (IHS) Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS), Kayenta Health Center
Location: Kayenta Health Center, Kayenta, Arizona (Outpatient Department)
Job Type: Full Time
Shift Schedule: 80 hours per two-week period; tour of duty determined by the facility Supervisor
Weekdays (Mon Fri):

Monday Friday, outpatient clinic hours as scheduled by the Supervisor; may rotate into other duty sections as needed to support patient care
License / Certifications:

Active, unrestricted license in at least one U.S. state or territory

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required)

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent training approved by the Clinical Director

Current/Active DEA registration; enrollment in the Arizona Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (required)

Job Summary:
Provide full-scope outpatient pediatric care to American Indian and Alaska Native patients at Kayenta Health Center, delivering examination, diagnosis, treatment, and referral services in accordance with IHS and Navajo Area clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver outpatient pediatric care (7 8 patients per 4-hour block), including diagnosis, treatment, immunizations, and referrals to outside facilities as needed

Manage acute and chronic conditions (e.g., respiratory, infectious, minor trauma/orthopedic) and respond to pediatric medical emergencies
-
Provide limited nutritional counseling and address acute behavioral/psychiatric concerns per facility protocol

Maintain 100% timely, accurate EHR documentation same-day, complying with IHS, CMS, and Joint Commission standards

Follow Kayenta Service Unit clinical practice guidelines and applicable licensing/accreditation standards (CMS, TJC, CLIA, IHS)
