JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Corrosion Monitoring Technician (SCMT) provides advanced technical support to Greater Prudhoe Bay field operations by installing, removing, troubleshooting, and maintaining corrosion monitoring equipment in pressurized pipeline systems. The SCMT serves as a senior field resource, providing guidance and mentorship to Corrosion Monitoring Technicians while working closely with Corrosion Engineers to evaluate corrosion rates and support mitigation programs. This position is expected to work independently, perform complex field tasks, and support safe and efficient execution of corrosion monitoring activities across the field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Responsible for maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing corrosion monitoring valves, access fittings, and retrieval tools.
-
Install and remove corrosion monitoring devices from pressurized pipeline systems in accordance with established procedures.
-
Process and document corrosion monitoring data as required.
-
Support Corrosion Engineers with monitoring programs and field data collection activities.
-
Evaluate equipment condition and recommend maintenance or replacement as necessary.
-
Assist in troubleshooting equipment and operational issues associated with corrosion monitoring systems.
-
Perform inspections of corrosion monitoring equipment and associated components.
-
Work independently to plan and execute assigned work activities.
-
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Corrosion Monitoring Technicians and less experienced personnel.
-
Assist with training and onboarding of new employees.
-
Interface with Client Field and Facility Operators to obtain work permits and access through the Electronic Control of Work permitting system.
-
Communicate with client personnel and other contractors regarding work scope, scheduling, and operational requirements.
-
Drive company vehicles to various field locations, often traveling up to 120 miles per day.
-
Work primarily in arctic environments, hazardous atmospheres, and process facilities.
-
Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.
-
Perform daily housekeeping duties in shops, work areas, and company vehicles.
-
Support inventory management of corrosion monitoring equipment, retrieval tools, and replacement components.
-
Provide leadership and education in AES safety culture.
-
Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
-
Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

Other duties may be assigned as business needs require.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
-
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
-
Valid Driver's License required.
-
Driving record must meet Company requirements.
-
Minimum three (3) years of related experience working with pressurized process piping, corrosion monitoring systems, equipment, and associated hazards.
-
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.
-
Demonstrated ability to work independently in field environments.
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
-
Must possess basic computer skills and the ability to utilize electronic reporting systems
-
Must be capable of physically lifting and transporting equipment weighing up to 70 pounds on a repetitive basis.

Required to complete NCCER Pipeline Training and Assessment Program certifications for DOT Operator Covered Tasks.
-
North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
-
Previous experience in corrosion monitoring operations within the oil and gas industry.

Experience working in Arctic and North Slope operating environments.
-
Experience mentoring, training, or leading field personnel.
-
Experience with corrosion monitoring retrieval systems, access fittings, and associated equipment.
-
Knowledge of corrosion monitoring programs, corrosion mitigation methods, and pipeline integrity practices.

Previous driving experience in winter and Arctic conditions preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE
While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment requirements outlined below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. A post-offer, pre-hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to ensure an employee's ability to safely meet job standards.
