We are a U.S.-based, well-diversified, growing precious metals producer with seven wholly-owned operations: the New Afton gold-copper mine in British Columbia, Canada, the Rainy River gold-silver mine in Ontario, Canada, the Las Chispas silver-gold mine in Sonora, Mexico, the Palmarejo gold-silver mine in Chihuahua, Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. In addition, the Company wholly-owns the Silvertip polymetallic critical minerals exploration project in British Columbia, Canada.

Coeur Rochester is an open pit, heap leach silver and gold operation. The Rochester mine has the company’s distinct position as Coeur’s largest expansion investment project in its 95-year history. The expansion project initiated commercial production in Q1 2024 and is currently in ramp-up, targeting a tripling of production rates from historical. Additionally, Rochester has the largest silver reserve asset in the United States.

About the Job:

The HR Generalist will be responsible for all day-to-day employee relations issues working directly in the field with the operations groups, contribute to the efforts in recruitment and retention, workforce development and training and compensation and benefits; which involves planning, developing, recommending, and implementing HR activities, policies, procedures, and programs. (4 days a week at 10 hr days)

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures proper and timely recruitment activities for Coeur personnel including creation of job descriptions, requisitions and recruitment advertisements; partners with state employment agencies and professional recruiters as needed.
  • Communicates with site leaders and managers on HR initiatives as they relate to business priorities.
  • Works with Corporate HR Team to ensure consistency and best practice sharing to leverage with the Rochester site.
  • Assist with employee relations issues including performance evaluations, promotions, and administration of discipline and performance improvement plans; conducts exit interviews.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, job fairs, seminars, and similar events as required or directed.
  • Contributes to the creation and facilitation of training program(s).
  • Serves as company liaison and employee advocate with third-party benefits administrations.
  • Contribute new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Ensures compliance departmental compliance with all local, state, federal and company rules.
  • Demonstrates required behavioral skills including productive communication, cooperation, productivity, initiative, creativity, dependability

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Ability to work safe and promote safe behavior in others
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or other related discipline
  • Approximately 3-5 years of human resources generalist experience
  • Experience working in the mining industry, specifically in a mining location with specific work being in the field around large equipment
  • Knowledge of current employment law, and applicable state and federal laws and requirements, as well as human resources policies and procedures
  • Sets high standards for self and others, builds trust and takes accountability
  • Other duties as assigned
