Job description
UAF is Alaska's research university and America's Arctic university. Successful applicants will enjoy opportunities to join CFOS's world-class high-latitude teaching and research programs in marine, estuarine, and freshwater ecosystems. CFOS offers a B.S. in Fisheries and Marine Sciences, a B.A. in Fisheries, Minors in Marine Science and Fisheries, Master of Marine Policy, Master of Marine Studies and Blue MBA degree programs, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Oceanography, Marine Biology and Fisheries. The College has over 50 faculty, researchers and staff, more than 125 graduate students, and one of the nation's largest undergraduate degree programs in fisheries and marine sciences. To thrive in this role, candidates will be expected to develop and lead a productive and externally funded research program focused on fisheries biology, ecology, management, or social sciences. This research program should emphasize Alaska's fisheries and ecosystems and involve students and postdoctoral researchers. Candidates will also be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, with a particular focus on the undergraduate fisheries program through both instruction and advising.
