What You Will Be Doing
As a Motor Vehicle Office Manager 1 (OM1), you will lead the team of Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative 1 (MVCSR 1) professionals who process mailed in and emailed transactions. In this role, you will:
- Provide direct supervision and support to MVCSR I staff as they process mailed in vehicle transactions, as well as transactions submitted via web portal.
- Serve as a primary resource for complex DMV questions, ensuring customers receive accurate, timely processing on all transaction types, including titles, registrations and research requests.
- Ensure MVCSR I's follow DMV policy, statute, and contractual requirements, offering clarification, coaching, and corrective direction when needed.
- Monitor MVCSR I performance, identify training or compliance gaps, and implement solutions.
- Support consistent, high-quality service delivery across the correspondence and e-services department by promoting accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer-focused practices.

Minimum QualificationsOne year of experience leading the work of employees performing motor vehicle licensing, titling, registration, and compliance functions. This experience is met by service as a Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative 3 with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere. OR One year of experience supervising employees who perform cash-handling and provide services to customers; review and act on legal documents for transactions such as business incorporation, real property transfer, or tax filing; provide operator training for vehicles, heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, or aircraft; or provide inspection and enforcement of regulations covering heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, vessels, or aircraft. The cash-handling and customer service experience includes such work as retail sales supervisor, travel office supervisor, restaurant manager, bank teller supervisor, and so on. OR Two years of experience performing advanced-level motor vehicle licensing, titling, registration, and compliance functions that included conducting practical skill testing of applicants for non-commercial, motorcycle, or commercial driver licenses. This experience is met by service as a Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative 2 with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere. OR A bachelor's degree from an accredited college. Special Note: A background check of criminal justice information will be conducted upon initial employment.
