Job description

Position Summary

The ACE Sales Representative is responsible for generating residential security and smart home sales opportunities through customer interaction, onsite consultations, walkthroughs, and solution-based selling. This position is responsible for identifying customer needs, designing customized security solutions, managing customer expectations, completing required turnover documentation, and ensuring a smooth transition from sales to installation.

The ACE Sales Representative serves as the primary point of contact during the sales process and plays a critical role in customer experience, project accuracy, and overall installation success.

Primary Responsibilities

Customer Consultation & Sales

• Meet with homeowners to conduct onsite security consultations 

• Identify customer security concerns and protection needs 

• Recommend customized alarm and smart home solutions 

• Present products, services, and monitoring options 

• Build value through solution-based selling 

• Close residential alarm and smart home sales opportunities 

 Residential Walkthrough Responsibilities

Conduct detailed residential walkthroughs to identify proper equipment placement and installation requirements.

Responsibilities include confirming locations for:

• Keypads 

• Motion detectors 

• Door and window sensors 

• Glass break detectors 

• Smoke detectors 

• Smart home devices 

• Cameras and video doorbells 

• Wireless Access Points

Camera & Network Responsibilities

If cameras are included within project scope:

• Confirm expected camera installation locations 

• Gather required site photos 

• Verify Wi-Fi strength and internet capability 

• Confirm minimum upload speed requirements for camera installations 

• Identify network or installation limitations 

-Financing Responsibilities

 • Present financing options to customers 

• Send financing portal links to customers 

• Assist customers with financing application process 

• Ensure financing documentation is completed accurately 

Documentation & Turnover Responsibilities

• Complete accurate proposals and agreements 

• Ensure proposal matches approved scope of work 

• Gather all required customer documentation 

• Submit complete turnover package to Care Department 

• Provide accurate installation notes and customer expectations 

Required turnover documentation may include:

 • Signed agreements 

• Matching proposals 

• Equipment notes 

• Camera location photos 

• Financing documentation 

• Customer contact information 

Installation Coordination

• Coordinate with Customer Care and Installation teams 

• Attend installation walkthroughs when required 

• Introduce installation technician to homeowner 

• Confirm installation scope and expectations prior to installation 

Performance Expectations

ACE Sales Representatives are expected to:

• Maintain strong customer communication 

• Accurately document project scope 

• Maintain professionalism during customer interactions 

• Meet sales and performance goals 

• Ensure clean and accurate turnover submissions 

• Minimize installation issues caused by incomplete documentation 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

• Sales experience preferred 

• Ability to conduct in-home presentations 

• Strong organizational skills 

• Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions 

• Basic understanding of alarm systems and smart home technology preferred
