Job description

In Foundation and Development at Main Campus Lee Building
Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift, Mon - Fri some weekends and after hours required.
Summary:
Development Officer is responsible for generating leadership gift support from private sources to support the mission and vision of Children's of Alabama. This position reports to the Director of Development and will function as an integral part of the development team whose responsibilities include managing charitable support for Children's of Alabama.
Other information:
Demonstrated knowledge of Raiser's Edge database and Raiser's Edge NXT
Excellent verbal communication skills and proven writing skills
Experience in writing direct appeals, e-appeals, and articles as necessary
Customer-service orientation with ability to initiate communication with donors and prospects
Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as independently
Experience with budgeting, planning and project administration
Ability to handle diverse, simultaneous tasks, meet deadlines, and attend to follow-through
Ability to conceive, plan, coordinate, and implement programs which focus on results, not processes, and which are successful in attracting substantial private support.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing, as well as a well-developed sense of propriety in dealing with a wide variety of audiences.
Ability to work under pressure with respect to expected and fixed goals.
Knowledge of fundraising principles, and computer skills.
