Job description

POSITION: Maintenance Technician
REPORTS TO: Engineer Manager
TEAM MEMBER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Willingness to accept the most effective role.
  • Function as a representative of the Korman culture and standards to all Team Members and our residents.
  • Maintains regular attendance in compliance with the AKA standards.
  • Approach all encounters with residents and Team Members in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Promotes a safe, secure and healthy work environment.
  • Maintains Resident/guest privacy and confidentiality by protecting all personal information.
  • Familiar with emergency and safety procedures for your role.
  • Adheres to AKA Image Requirements policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and complete report work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standard.
  • Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.
  • Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems and make minor repairs and/or replacement.
  • Assist in checking and making routine repairs and assist on major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, and HVAC.
  • Maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal".
  • Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures if needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Proficiency in English (written and oral).
  • Proven strong background in Maintenance and/or Room Operations.
  • General Maintenance Skills: plumbing, electric, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot internet enabled areas and devices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one to two years of maintenance experience.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Able to push/pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Sits, stands, bends, stretches, lifts items and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Able to work with chemicals.
