Salary: $125,000 - $140,000, Depending on Qualifications


Position Summary


The General Manager (GM) for a Terminal Consortium at major airports oversees shared aeronautical equipment and services. They manage contracts, lead consortium budgets, and negotiate with commercial carriers and stakeholders to ensure seamless, safe, and cost-effective daily operations. The GM will hold the ultimate day-to- day responsibility for the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of services as assigned. The GM works closely with airport and airline stakeholders to build an effective working rapport and document and address all issues on a timely basis.

Requirements:


Core Responsibilities:

ยท Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations and maintenance of shared terminal equipment, including critical infrastructure like baggage handling systems (BHS), passenger boarding bridges, and deicing/glycol recovery contracts.

ยท Consortium Management: Serve as the primary liaison between the facility (e.g., airport or port authority) and member carriers/tenants. Handle new carrier onboarding, tenant relations, and consortium growth.

ยท Contract Administration: Negotiate and manage complex service contracts, vendor agreements, and lease terms.

ยท Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to federal and local regulatory compliance (e.g., DOT, FAA, or maritime standards), while conducting routine safety audits.

ยท Financial Management: Develop and oversee annual operating budgets, control costs, and drive revenue-generating projects.

ยท Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise operations, cleaning, and maintenance personnel to foster a positive, inclusive work culture.

ยท Demonstrated ability to handle all aspects of Terminal Management including Operations, Maintenance, Environment, Finance, Public Relations, and Human Resources Management.

ยท Proven ability to interface with Government officials, including DHS, USDA, CBP, TSA, DOT, FAA, DEC, DEP, OSHA, EPA, CDC, etc.

ยท Demonstrated ability to facilitate effective communications in a multi-stakeholder environment between the Airport, Airlines, stakeholders, and tenants.

ยท Ability to read and evaluate budgets, financial statements, and P&L reports.

ยท Ability to review/write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

ยท Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, employees, clients, customers, and the general public.

ยท Excellent communication skills.

ยท Demonstrated proficient level of MS office tools


Qualifications, Education, and Certifications:

ยท At least four yearsโ€™ experience as Operations Director, Maintenance Manager, Station Manager or Business & Properties Manager of a FAA Part 139 Certified Airport, Airport System, Airport Terminal, or Airline Station, with commercial passenger activity of more than 3M enplanements per year.

ยท Bachelorโ€™s degree required.

ยท At least 15 years of leadership experience in the aviation industry with a proven track record of driving strategic growth, leading teams, and operational excellence.

ยท Professional License/Certifications in area of specialization is a plus.

ยท Ability to speak and write Spanish is highly desired.

ยท Valid Driverโ€™s License

ยท Must pass TSA Security review and criminal background check and be able to be badged to work in the secure area of the airport.
