Position Summary

This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week, and will be for a 6 month duration based on the individual Contractor's performance. If the Contractor fails to perform assigned duties and responsibilities in a professional manager, in good faith and to the best of the Contractor's abilities, talents and experience; Tactical Air Support may terminate this agreement immediately by giving notice to the Contracting Agency. The Contractor's rate of pay and payment for work performed will be processed and arranged through the Contracting Agency.


The Aircraft Mechanics will be assigned to perform duties in their specialized expertise in either avionics, structures or airframes.


Responsibilities

Avionic Mechanics will perform organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification, troubleshooting, and replacement of aircraft electrical/avionics systems on all assigned aircraft, components, and equipment.

Structures Mechanic will read & interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, & technical specifications to accurately fabricate parts to required dimensions & tolerances, & identify materials, understand symbols and notations, and translate design requirements into precise fabrication processes. Will perform organizational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification, and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft, components, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be instructed to apply by the contracting agency.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and/or flight line occupational field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable maintenance and technical manuals, publications, instructions, and special tools and test equipment.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States, complete a U.S. government I-9 form, and successfully pass a government background check.

Physical Demands

  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds (with assistance, if required).
  • Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms.
  • Regularly ascend/descend stairs and/or ladders.


Work Authorization

  • Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
  • Tactical Air Support is a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for cause drug/alcohol testing (including for marijuana) is required.
  • Pre-employment and ongoing physical certifications are required.
  • Occasional aircraft hangar or warehouse environment with exposure to loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate (hot/cold), electrical shock, or trip or slip hazards.
  • May be exposed to or required to handle hazardous materials.
  • Specific work hours determined by operational, departmental, or contractual requirements.
