Job description

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Servicer Ramp for Harry Reid International Airport.

Purpose and Scope:

Responsible Under the direct supervision of a lead mechanic or maintenance shift supervisor, performs flight line ground services at Harry Reid International Airport and other company operating locations ensuring aircraft safety and on-time departures. Key responsibilities include loading/unloading luggage and cargo, marshalling (guiding) aircraft during launch and recovery operations, operating general and specialized ground support equipment, and servicing aircraft water/lavatories. Individuals work in fast-paced outdoor environments, often in extreme weather.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Marshalling of incoming and outgoing aircraft to assist pilot's maneuvering of the aircraft on the ground, using a combination of hand, light signal devices, and ground communication systems.

  • Secures aircraft in parking position by using appropriate wheel chocks and tie down equipment installs aircraft coverings and secures aircraft for overnight parking.

  • Perform aircraft arrival and departure safety checks

  • Cleaning of Aircraft Windows, Windshields, Fuselage and panels.

  • Examines aircraft tires for safe operation

  • Responds to all in-flight and ground emergencies and if necessary, removes disabled aircraft from runway using towing equipment.

  • Positions and remove boarding platforms to load and unload passengers.

  • Inspects and operates ground support equipment such as electrical power supplies, engine starting units, and aircraft towing vehicles and equipment.

  • Utilize appropriate electronic manuals and related publications.

  • Documents appropriate aircraft form entries for all tasks.

  • Responsible for daily Foreign Object Debris operations and Inspections and removal.

  • Perform Flight Attendant duties as assigned or requested.

  • Perform other position related duties as assigned or requested.

  • Supports Aircraft Technicians as requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Position requires the ability to qualify for and maintain government Secret Security Clearance and Airport Security background Clearances.

  • Must possess a valid state issued driver's license.

  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.

  • Position may require different shift work assignments and may require routine scheduled travel away from home base.

  • On occasion, must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Preferred Skills:

Two (2) to Four (4) years prior commercial Ramp Agent or military aircraft Transient Alert experience is a desired.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Must possess the ability to carry and lift overhead up to 50 pounds. Duties include walking, climbing, standing, stooping, stretching and squatting for purposes of moving equipment, boarding and de-boarding the aircraft, performing maintenance using ladders, and performing maintenance atop and below aircraft. Must be able to work at high altitudes when performing flight attendant duties. Work is primarily performed outside in a high-level noise environment. Performing maintenance support activities in low-light areas, operating support equipment after daylight hours. Work is occasionally performed in inclement weather. Must be able to work under strict deadlines.

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
