Aircraft Planner 2 in  GAC Van Nuys

Candidate should possess strong computer and organizational skills. Ability to identify and order parts from drawings or procedures. Corridor experience is preferred. Willing to support operations at both Van Nuys and Long Beach sites. 

The compensation range for this role is $38.06 - $44.40 per hour.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements
Associate's Degree Aviation Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 2 years related experience. Position Purpose: Supports Service Center Operations projects. Works closely with Scheduling and the Business Office to support the goals and objectives of Service Center Operations.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Establishes Bill of Material and forwards to Spares so parts and materials can be ordered and received prior to aircraft arrival.
  2. Performs follow-up on due dates on material to resolve any timing problems that would impact the aircraft project plan.
  3. Determines job requirements from support groups for each project (i.e., Custom Engineering, Service Engineering, Back Shops, Outside Vendors).
  4. Downloads CMP as required. and adjusts for concurrent tasks and hours needed to complete each project.
  5. Establishes and/or adjusts work descriptions and standard hours while keeping the work order system in sync with the standard hours.
  6. Develops a project flow chart working from data base templates and operations to preplan each project.
  7. Supports Operations with all requirements for project planning.
Additional Functions:
  1. If applicable, conducts training for other planners and fills in for Group Leader and/or Scheduler. .
Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
  3. Ability to retain confidential information is necessary.
  4. Familiarity with aircraft terminology, components and systems including FAA regulations.
  5. Very familiar with inspection requirements and CMP.
  6. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
