JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for substantiation of all aircraft interior components (including cabinetry, panels, seating, support structure, and aircraft placards) to comply with all structural and cabin safety regulatory requirements. Tasks include work in advance design, new product development, special customer requests, refurbishments, special missions, field issues/customer support, and product improvement projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Detailed stress analysis on composite and metal seating systems, interior structures, and fuselage attachments using classical hand analysis and finite element analysis of static and dynamic loading conditions.
• Conduct dynamic and static testing on interior structures and components.
• Coordinate and communicate with Interior Design teams to ensure structurally optimal designs.
• Review and approve technical design drawings to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and regulations.
• Assist with FAA certification activities; report writing for test plans, test results, analysis reports, and compliance certification reports.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor's Degree in:
o Aerospace Engineering
o Mechanical Engineer
o Other related engineering field
• Relative mechanical, avionics, or electrical engineering experience is preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of relative structural engineering experience is required experience is required.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Self-starter with good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to develop good working relations by coordination, communication, and issue resolution with other engineering disciplines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in hand stress analysis.
- Experience using NASTRAN/Femap or another static finite element analysis software is preferred.
- Experience in using LS-Dyna or another dynamic finite element analysis software is preferred.
- Experience with computer based drafting tools (Catia V6) is preferred.
- Strong computer skills with MS Office Suite are required.
- Technical report writing skills to prepare test plans, test results, structural analysis substantiations, and regulatory compliance reports.
