Location: San Antonio
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (9+ Month Assignment)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Flexibility Required for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shifts
Pay Rate: $35 - $40 per hour

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a world-renowned aerospace manufacturer to hire experienced Aircraft Mechanics for the prestigious VC-25B Program in San Antonio, TX. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to one of the most important aviation programs in the world—supporting the next generation of presidential aircraft.

Position Overview

As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will play a key role in aircraft electrical modification, systems installation, troubleshooting, and operational readiness. You’ll work alongside elite aerospace professionals in a fast-paced, highly technical environment supporting advanced aircraft systems and modifications.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform aircraft electrical modifications on and off aircraft

  • Install, route, seal, bond, and secure wiring harnesses and cable assemblies

  • Execute advanced connector terminations, including:

    • Shielded wiring

    • Coaxial cable

    • Fiber optic systems

  • Read and interpret:

    • Engineering drawings

    • Technical orders

    • Retrofit and modification instructions

  • Troubleshoot and test electrical and environmental aircraft systems

  • Assemble, inspect, and install wire bundles and electrical components to specification

  • Ensure strict compliance with company, government, and safety regulations

  • Collaborate with Structures, Avionics, and General Mechanics teams to meet production goals

  • Support team development by mentoring junior mechanics and leading complex tasks when needed


Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Minimum 4 years of aircraft electrical/electronic maintenance experience

  • Experience fabricating new wire bundles and installing into aircraft without existing wiring

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft electrical systems and electronic theory

  • Ability to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, and overnights

  • Ability to:

    • Climb ladders and work in confined spaces

    • Lift up to 35 pounds

    • Wear required protective equipment

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance

Export Control Requirements

This position requires access to information and facilities regulated by ITAR/EAR compliance standards. Employment eligibility may be limited to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees, unless appropriate export authorization is obtained.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Depot-Level or Modification aircraft maintenance programs

  • Ability to operate:

    • Forklifts

    • Mobile cranes

    • Electric-powered elevating equipment

  • Military or large commercial aircraft modification experience is highly preferred

Pay Details: $35.00 per hour
