PAC Seating Systems is a custom manufacturer of engineered and structural seating solutions for the business jet and VIP aerospace market. Founded in 2002 in Palm City, Florida, the company specializes in certified seating designed for private and business aviation.Primary Schedule: 4/10'sPosition Overview:The Certification Engineer is responsible for developing and executing certification programs to demonstrate compliance to regulatory and OEM requirements.Essential Functions:Develop certification test plans and reports ensuring compliance to regulatory and OEM requirementsCommunicate with project team members to identify scope of work, schedule, design details, quotes, risks, and other pertinent factors impacting certificationContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededReviews and approves design changes from a certification perspectiveOversee and assist as necessary with test article build and conformityCompiles FAA certification documentation for submission to regulatory agencies and completion centers/ODAHands-on working in a test lab performing static tests and supporting external test labs with dynamic crash testing of aircraft seatsSupports design optimization tasksPrepares documentation for assigned projects to include certification documents, correspondence as well as planning and writing minutes of meetings between Company and Aviation AuthoritiesEnsures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraintsMay represent the company in meetings with government authorities as well as taking part in international working groups and committeesInterpreting airworthiness requirements and advising appropriate departments in all matters related to airworthiness and certificationMay require review and assist of certification documents of peers for accuracy and completeness100% onsite; however, may require travel (up to 10%) to support external testingMaintain a safe, secure and legal work environment, adhering to all company policies and proceduresMaintain and protect the confidentiality of the Company’s information and productsJob Specifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitaskExceptional organization skills, self-motivation, a sense of urgency, with strong attention to detailExcellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative requiredExcellent communication, both written and verbalWork independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiativeMust be proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)Experience in Creo/Pro-E and AutoCADGain exposure FAA or Military Aircraft Certification PracticesStrong Engineering Mechanics knowledge would be a plusKnowledge of classical hand calculation to obtain interface loads and to be able to understand stress calculations/FEM analysisEducation, Certifications, and Experience:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred0-2 years of engineering experiencePhysical Demands and Work Environment:Working conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.All employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required.Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
