Job Description:
TITLE: Supply Chain Quality Manager
EMPLOYER: Airbus Americas, Inc.
LOCATION: Herndon, VA
DUTIES: Managing the development of a portfolio of suppliers and vendors, and ensuring that supplier
performance, capacity, de-risking, and development needs are secured to meet the evolving
business requirements. Directing the maturity and robustness of the supplier's manufacturing and
supply chain processes to avoid supply failures and driving the continuous improvement of supply
chain-related performances for the deliveries of supplied products. Managing the review of
supplier capacity and capability to secure an effective ramp-up period along with Airbus' industrial
objectives, including major planning changes and ramp down periods. Monitoring and analyzing
supply chain performance using Key Performance Indicators, and directing the surveillance of
suppliers through audits, assessments, recovery plans and missions, CID (Corrective, Improvement,
Development), and industrial risks with internal and external stakeholders. Managing major
industrial risks, overseeing major changes including industrial transfers, and supporting design
changes from an industrial point of view.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or
related field and 3 years in any job title involving experience in a procurement operations
environment in the commercial aviation industry. In lieu of a degree as stated, employer will also
accept 2 additional years in any job title involving experience in a procurement operations
environment in the commercial aviation industry. Prior experience must include: Experience
monitoring and auditing suppliers; Experience with Supply Chain and Quality processes; Experience
in lean manufacturing, sheet metal manufacturing, machining, and aerospace assembly; and
Experience in project management including multi-functional team industrialization projects from
tendering phase to serial production. Up to 50% domestic and international travel required for
supplier meetings, audits, and assessments onsite. Full-time telework permitted.
