Job description

Overview
We are seeking a motivated Burn Table operator. The operator will be responsible for setting up and operating overhead cranes to load/unload steel. They will verify that the finished product meets specifications while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Responsibilities
  • Always follow Triple-S safe methods of work and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain and safely operate tools and equipment as assigned, including but not limited to tape measure, caliper, hammer, pallet trucks, banding machine, micrometer, beam hook, plate lifting clamps, forklift, shear, overhead crane and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform routine checks on equipment and notify supervisor of any damages or concerns.
  • Operate and maintain Burn Table to cut materials according to CAD drawings or work orders.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to determine cutting requirements.
  • Measure materials to assure conformance with design specifications.
  • Select correct material type, stock size and dimensions.
  • Transfer appropriate data onto materials.
  • Keep a clean, and well-organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Technical training or certification in Machine Operation or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience interpreting CAD drawings preferred.
  • Experienced operating CNC plasma and oxy machines.
  • Familiarity with measuring tools and techniques.
  • Experienced with overhead cranes.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for a prolonged period.
