Job description

HVAC Tech - Janitorial Services
Monday thru Friday (Day shift with some on call weekends)
Annual Salary: $65,000 - $70,000
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate operates, inspects, and maintains HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment in assigned facilities to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment life. They maintain equipment in an energy-efficient and safe manner, minimizing downtime through proactive repairs and record-keeping.
This role includes inspecting and repairing interior and exterior areas, such as walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting. A strong focus is placed on troubleshooting and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems. Candidates should have technical expertise in these areas and be multi-skilled in electrical work, plumbing, and material handling to successfully complete daily and weekly assignments.
Work Environment
This position involves working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. The role may require lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems, equipment, and components.
  • Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC/R systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution systems, plumbing systems, and both interior and exterior building repairs, as well as related grounds and production equipment for assigned buildings.
  • Study and familiarize yourself with the various items of equipment and the proper methods required for their use in everyday activities.
  • Conduct assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions that may impact satisfactory client occupancy and operations.
  • Submit P-Card receipts daily.
  • Update work order statuses in real time.
  • Utilize CMMS systems, such as Corrigo, for all performed work.
  • Candidates must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Must be available for call-in work and perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment)
  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in all aspects of building engineering with a strong background in the technical aspects of HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair and maintenance. Knowledge of overall system design and applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial refrigeration and/or supermarket refrigeration.
  • Must pass the background check, MVR, and Drug Test.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
  • Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration and HVAC
