Job description

Koniag IT Solutions, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an AI Adoption Specialist with TS/SCI security clearance to support KITS and our government customer at Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE), VA.ย

The AI Adoption Specialist provides embedded, hands-on support to accelerate the integration and operational use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and AI-adjacent tools across Air Combat Command (ACC) HQ A589 staff located at JBLE, and virtually to 15 AF A589, and 16 AF A589. This is a practitioner-first role: the incumbent works alongside mission personnel, learn their workflows, identifies practical AI/RPA opportunities, and builds user proficiency through applied instruction and collaborative solution development. Deep subject-matter expertise is not required; practical, applied proficiency and the ability to foster cultural adoption are essential.The AI Adoption Specialist serves as a trusted advisor and enabler, ensuring AI and RPA tools are effectively identified, prototyped, integrated, and sustained within daily operations. The role emphasizes user engagement, and mission-driven technical support across both classified and unclassified environments.

Essential Job Functions:
Core Tasks:

  • Assist in the development of long-term strategic plans for AI/RPA integration across ACC A589 directorate and wings.
  • Collect and synthesize data to inform AI/RPA adoption strategies and measure mission impact.
  • Coordinate AI/RPA integration activities across multiple functional areas and units.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support AI/RPA integration.
  • Identify AI/RPA opportunities through direct observation of workflows and user engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of AI/RPA tools and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide applied hands-on training to users on AI/RPA tools in A589 mission-relevant contexts.
  • Provide technical advisory support on AI/RPA integration, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity, data governance, and classification requirements.
  • Support the prototyping, testing, and transition of AI/RPA solutions into sustained operations.

  • Assist in the development of training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides for AI/RPA tools.
  • Coordinate with AI/RPA Solutions Architect to conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training requirements.
  • Facilitate user-driven innovation challenges (e.g., solution-a-thons, ideation workshops).
  • Maintain knowledge repositories and update materials based on user feedback and evolving tool capabilities.
  • Participate in governance bodies, technical exchanges, and working groups related to AI/RPA adoption.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Location and Environment:

  • Primary Work Location: Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE), Virginia
  • Classified Facilities: Regular work in Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and secure spaces
  • Workspace: Government-provided office space in secure facility; access to NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and collaboration tools
  • Classified Work: Regular access to classified environments (SIPRNet, AFSCI) required for coordination and stakeholder engagement


Travel & Schedule Expectations:

  • In-person presence at JBLE during normal duty hours (0800โ€“1700 EST, Mondayโ€“Friday, excluding federal holidays).
  • No Travel at this time; however, subject to change as required to support AI/RPA adoption activities, coordinated through ACC A3.
  • Work in both classified and unclassified environments; ability to operate in SCIFs and meet all physical security requirements.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and use computers for extended periods; ability to lift and transport training materials and equipment as needed.


Schedule and Availability:

  • Core Hours: 0800-1700 EST, Monday-Friday), with occasional extended hours to meet mission deadlines or support operational events
  • Flexibility: Occasional early morning or evening meetings to accommodate A589 schedules across time zones
  • Telework: No telework eligibility for unclassified administrative tasks; all classified work must be performed on-site in approved facilities

Security Environment:

  • Work with classified information up to Top Secret/SCI level
  • Compliance with OPSEC, CUI handling, and classification protocols
  • Subject to security inspections, audits, and continuous evaluation
  • Adherence to base access, badge, and facility security requirements

Clearance Requirement:

  • Minimum Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance that is current and in-scope required for ISR Wing Visits (no interim acceptable) or classified environment assignment.
    Experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on AI/ML and RPA integration in DoD environments
  • Proven track record integrating AI/RPA solutions
  • Experience delivering technical training, demonstrations, or hands-on facilitation to military or federal civilian audiences
  • Familiarity with Air Force or DoD operational workflows (intelligence, mission planning, logistics, or similar mission sets)
    Certifications (Required)
  • None specified; certifications are not a substitute for demonstrated practical proficiency.
    Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and demonstrated hands-on experience in AI/RPA adoption, integration, or user enablement in a DoD/IC operational environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • DCWF-aligned certification in data science, AI/ML, or related fields.
