About the role The Air Compressor Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air compressors and related systems. This role ensures equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently while meeting company, customer, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, inspect, and repair industrial air compressors and auxiliary equipment
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues and recommend repairs
  • Conduct routine inspections and performance testing of compressor systems
  • Replace worn or defective parts, including motors, valves, seals, belts, and filters
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and industry regulations
  • Document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs accurately
  • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and system improvements
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, and management teams as needed
  • Always maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Assist other trades and perform additional duties or work assignments as directed by the management team

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or trade school preferred
  • 3+ years of experience maintaining or repairing industrial air compressors or rotating equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with reciprocating, centrifugal, or rotary screw compressors preferred
  • Ability to read technical drawings and service manuals
  • Familiarity with safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • HVAC or refrigeration experience is a plus
  • Must provide own personal tools
  • Required to supply personal hand tools appropriate for the role
  • Worked on following equipment, Quincy, Kaeser, Sullair.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in industrial environments
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call as required
  • Ability to work in shop and field environments

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Power Generation industries
  • Knowledge of vibration monitoring, alignment, and lubrication practices
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
