We are looking for a professional, detail-oriented individual with excellent cooking skills and strong leadership ability to join our team as a Sous Chef. This is an exciting position for someone who thrives in fine dining and event-driven hospitality, enjoys working with seasonal, high-quality ingredients, and is passionate about mentoring and leading others.

Our current need is seasonal for 30-40 hours/week through the end of the year, with the potential to stay on in the new year. This exempt position is based in our Upper Westside Kitchen, and involves preparation duties as well as on-site work at events throughout the Metro Atlanta area. Typical prep hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 9 AM - 5 PM, with events scheduled on weeknights and weekends. The individual in this role usually works an average of two events per week.

Base pay for this position starts at $25/hour, depending on experience. Additional compensation includes event gratuity tipping, mileage and parking reimbursements, and discretionary bonuses.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years of professional cooking experience, with 1+ year in a leadership role.
  • Previous fine dining or restaurant experience required.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage team members.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in computer software such as G Suite and other related restaurant tools (preferred).
    Passionate about preparing great food and drink while practicing authentic hospitality.
  • Desire to integrate into the Homespun culture and represent the company outside of scheduled shifts.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to handle and carry trays, small wares, equipment, or other items weighing up to 50 lbs, standing, walking up and down stairs and uneven terrain, and exerting well-paced mobility for an extended time.
  • A personal, reliable means of transportation is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the creation and execution of seasonal menus.
  • Prepare and oversee daily prep lists for the culinary team.
  • Supervise kitchen preparation leading up to events.
  • Act as a leadership presence in the kitchen and on-site, ensuring quality standards are met.
